Dr. Dawes is a native of Wabash, Indiana. He is a graduate of Indiana University and Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine residency with board certification at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana and a dermatology residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine and received board certification from the American Board of Dermatology in 1995.
Dr. Dawes founded the practice in 1995 with Dr. Fretzin joining the group shortly thereafter in 1997 to create Dawes Fretzin Dermatology. Together they established Dawes Fretzin Clinical Research Group in 2004.
Dr. Dawes has served as secretary/treasurer and president of the Indiana Academy of Dermatology state medical society.
